What is Grace?

What exactly is Grace?

Webster's Dictionary defines grace as:

a : unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification b : a virtue coming from God c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace

Look closely at that! Unmerited? We did nothing to deserve it! There is nothing we can ever do to earn God's grace. It has been freely given to all of humanity and all we have to do is accept it.

I'm hoping that this blog will help people begin to grasp the reality of God's grace. I'm going to post little by little and hope that each day a little more of the truth's surrounding Grace sink into the hearts and minds of those that are reading and posting here.

It is my opinion, and I believe it is supported by scripture, that grace is the single most important concept a believer needs to grasp. Grace is what saves us, grace is what sustains us, and it is through God's grace that we are able to do anything for Him.

I've been in so many churches and with so many new believers that approach their salvation with a, "God has saved me, now what can I do for Him" mentality. Truth is, there is NOTHING we can do for Him. His grace alone works through us to accomplish His purposes in our lives and in this world.

I hope this post gives you something to think about and stirs your thoughts and soul to seek the truth about God's grace. Please share with me your thoughts on this and let's diligently work out our salvation with fear and trembling, together!
